RBC have advised that : “they would like to share with you a video, produced by a local volunteer,
highlighting the extent to which our Foodbank warehouse facility has helped so many of our vulnerable
residents in recent weeks. As you will know, from standing position in late March, a team of
Councillors from across the political divide, and many volunteers from all parts of our borough have
been volunteering their time to help deliver over 500 food parcels, feeding many hundreds of
vulnerable and self- isolating people.
It is humbling to see how the team and our volunteers have rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in to
help others. It is also heart-warming to see the reaction on the faces of our most vulnerable residents
when they receive one our food parcels. Now while some of the food in the warehouse has been
donated, most foodstuffs and essential items are bought from wholesale suppliers.
The Mayors’ COVID19 Appeal has raised a healthy sum, but much more will be needed as the full
extent of this crisis reveals itself.
