Libraries Reopening

Tuesday, 30 June 2020 07:05

SCC have just advised that : “Surrey libraries will gradually be reopening some of

our libraries from 6 July, with a range of measures in place to keep you and our

staff safe.

The first libraries to reopen will be: Camberley, Dorking, Epsom, Egham, Farnham,

Godalming, Guildford, Horley, Oxted, Redhill, Staines, Weybridge and Woking.

You can visit any of our open library buildings to browse and borrow books, but please

make sure you follow our social distancing and hygiene measures:

• Go on your own if possible

• Stay at least one metre apart, more if possible

• Use hand sanitizer provided on entry and exit

• Limit your visit to 30 minutes maximum

Where possible, please take advantage of our free reservation service to reserve your

books in advance and use the library app to issue and return your items. If you don't

know exactly what you're looking for, but you're unable to visit, or would prefer not to,

try our free 'ready reads' service. You tell us what books you enjoy reading and we'll

handpick a selection just for you to collect from your nearest open library.

Unfortunately, not all of our services are safe to resume just yet - Rhymetime will

remain online, public computers, printing and newspapers are not available, and you

won't be able to use study spaces or seating areas just yet. We'll be sure to let you

know as soon as it's safe for you to do so.

For an up to date list of which libraries are open and when and for information on free

reservations, ready reads or any of our online services, please visit the Surrey

Libraries web pages on https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/libraries”.
