Runnymede Access Liaison Group

Runnymede Access Liaison Group (RALG) was originally set up in 1991 as an advisory body to Runnymede Borough Council to suggest how the needs of people with disabilities might be best met within the Borough. Now an independent group, but still maintaining strong links with the Borough Council, we provide a representative “voice” for residents with all forms of physical or hidden disabilities

Egham Museum

Established in 1968, The Egham Museum is an independent community museum located in the Literary Institute in the High Street, fondly known as The Lit built in the late 18th Century.

Serving the communities of Egham, Egham Hythe, Englefield Green, Thorpe and Virginia Water, we explore the history of the local area from its earliest settlers in the Neolithic and Bronze Ages to the present day.

Visit the Museum to discover what led King John to seal the Magna Carta at nearby Runnymede, how Thomas Holloway made the fortune that established his namesake College and Sanatorium and which Le Mans winning cars were built on the Causeway to Staines.

Visit Egham

Visit Egham is a collaborative project between Egham Museum, Egham Town Team, and Royal Holloway.

This site has been designed to showcase local events alongside places to stay and eat for visitors and tourists to the area. It is also hoped that the site will provide a method of connecting local businesses with heritage and educational institutions to build new relationships and strengthen existing ones.

The site will be continually updated to publicise new events and any seasonal offers that are available. We hope you find the site informative and useful.

Lastly, if you use social media (Instagram, Twitter or Facebook) and are making a visit to the area please feel free to include the #VisitEgham in any of your posts.

We’re fortunate to be located between the two historic destinations of Englefield Green and Egham and we’ve been contributing to the local area since 1886. The village and town are home to many of our staff and students and we value the ties we have with community as a whole.

Our students bring many positives to the local area, from award-winning volunteering initiatives to creative community events. We also support local businesses and organisations and key local activities.
